ONE-PHASE IMPLANTS – WHY THEY ARE SPECIAL AMONG DENTAL IMPLANTS

Everything you need to know about one-phase implants

Most of us remember the not-so-distant times, when the only way to make complete dentures, or more precisely, to fix them, was with a prosthesis with an artificial plate. There was an improved version of this, when the size of the extremely disturbing artificial palate was reduced, the downside of which was that the denture had to be glued. These dentures have never been perfectly stable, causing a lot of annoyance with this. Not to mention that these prosthetics' bite-chewing capabilities are not even close to a modern denture. The strength of these dentures is the one-phase implants, or another name immediate loading implants. What exactly is this? Well, that's what this writing will be about.

What are dental implants? Before introducing one-phase implants, let’s first talk about implants in general, including those used in dentistry. A dental implant is a high-purity titanium alloy, sometimes multi-piece, artificial tooth root that, when implanted in the jawbone, can perfectly replace the original tooth root. The high-purity titanium alloy means it can also be a solution for those who have a metal allergy. As we will see later, there are several types of dental implants, two of which are mentioned in this writing, one of them in detail.

Dental problems that can be solved with implants- In the absence of one or two teeth, it is possible to have replaced it without sacrificing two healthy teeth next to the missing tooth to fix the replaced one. In place of the missing tooth, the implant implanted in the tooth bone is perfectly suited to securely secure the crown built on it.
- If you have a bridge and the teeth fixing the bridge are no longer able to perform their fixing function, with implants this problem also can be solved, to your satisfaction. The same goes for uncomfortable, poorly functioning dental bridges.

- If you feel that your quality of life has deteriorated significantly due to a malfunctioning traditional glued denture, the dental implant may be the best solution. It is true that dentures made in this way cost significantly more, but it is also true that for this higher price you get a denture very similar to your original teeth in all aspects.

Why is it more useful to choose an implant?- Provides perfect bite and chewing.
- Properly chewed food digests faster and easier.
- It means a high degree of comfort and safety for the wearer.
- Beautiful dentures change the characteristics of the face and provide a more confident look.
Which is the two most common type of implantIn this article, although we are talking mainly about one-phase implants, (immediate loading implants) it should be mentioned that there is a much longer used implant type and implantation method, the traditional two-phase implant. As its name says, this type of implant is implanted in two phases. You can read more about this and the differences between the two types of implants here.

The most characteristic features of one-phase implantsAlso, by its name, this type of dental implant is implanted in a single 3-5-day phase. This means that the required number of the one-phase implant is implanted immediately after the removal of teeth unsuitable for prosthetic care. It also means on the 3. 5. day, the patient can leave with a permanent temporary denture that can be loaded immediately.
Another important feature of this type of implant is that it can also be a solution for those who suffer from significant bone deficiency!

The most important benefits of one-phase implants- You don't need to use an uncomfortable, glued temporary prosthetist, even for a short time. After implantation, the dentures fixed to the implants by the implantologist professionally glued and function perfectly. The final denture (the price of which is not included in the price of implantation) is due in 6-8 months.
- Gentle, minimally invasive surgical intervention, so there are no cuts up, deep sores, and sewing. The implant is inserted (screwed) into the jawbone without cutting the gum.
- There is no need for 3-6 months of ossification and healing, single-phase implants can be loaded immediately!
- The procedure takes an extremely short time, only 3-5 days, even in case of complete oral rehabilitation.
- It can be used in the case of significant bone deficiency. So, there is no need for surgical implantation of artificial bone replacements, sinus lift and all of these significantly reduce the cost and time of intervention.
- The implant is made in one piece, so it is easier to implant and costs less.
And so, on and so forth ...

As we learned from the article, one-phase implants are most recommended for the replacement of a single or total tooth loss. Fast, painless, no bleeding, no cuts, and you can restore your original smile in just 3-5 days! Very important: this method can also be used in case of significant bone loss!
